New Collects

Bountiful God

Bountiful God,
in each new age you give us songs to sing,
new words to engage us afresh on the way to the kingdom,
new tunes and new tones to catch the sounds of our life together
in praise and thanksgiving,
recapture our souls in what we shall hear and sing,
drawing from us an answering experience,
that in all the pathways of our life
we shall live as people who praise,
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

God of the poor

God of the poor,
whose faithful servants Clare and Francis,
by the simplicity of their lives
and the faithfulness of their devotion,
heralded the gospel of your beloved Son;
may we like them make our prayer and praise
perfect partners of the proclamation of our lives,
that many will notice, listen, seek, and find,
and in their turn give glory to their Creator,
through Jesus Christ our Saviour. Amen.

O God, who sings through your creation

O God, who sings through your creation,
in the melody of its waters and the wind in the trees,
in the lilt of the songbird and the animal's call,
and who gave to David and all your musicians
psalms and songs to echo and hymn this beauty;
help us to find what is most creative in ourselves
so that we can sing and make music
that is worthy of all you give us,
and add to the glorious sound of praise
that rises from all your grateful creatures;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
